The Service of the
Shadows at the Church. The Service of the Shadows takes us on a
journey as Jesus meets with his disciples in the upper room and on
to the garden of Gethsemane to prepare to go to the cross. It is a
solemn service filled with gripping images from The Passion of the
Christ, moving music provided by the Sanctuary Choir and the
Handbells, and communion. This service will prepare your heart for
the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross on Good Friday and ultimately
for His resurrection on Easter Sunday! You will want to make this
very moving service a part of your Holy week worship experience.
Kids’ Maundy Thursday Service – 4/17
7:00 p.m. during
the Service of Shadows. This special service for children
3-years-old through 4th grade will include a Seder meal like Jesus
and His disciples would have had in the upper room. Sign up at the
Children’s Welcome Center or through the church office (732.7618)
Community
Good Friday Service – 4/18
7:00 p.m.
We are privileged to host this year’s Lincoln Area Ministers
Association Community Good Friday Service in our Sanctuary. Lincoln
community believers, join us as we worship our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ together on this special night.
Easter Sunday, April 20 9:30 am
at Hargrove
Chapel on the campus of Lincoln Christian University. Join us for a
special combined worship service praising our Risen Lord! Our
Worship Choir will lead us in singing songs of celebration and
praise. They will also bring our special music. The sermon will be
“Tree Reasons,” a look at three trees that stand at the beginning,
the middle, and the end of the Bible story. As we grasp the big
picture of the Bible in the story of the three trees—the tree in the
garden, the tree on the hill, and the tree in the city—we will begin
to see and understand God’s bigger picture. Everyone is invited to
come worship with us and to bring someone with them who needs to get
the bigger picture of God’s story, too.
