Sue Jones receives LCU promotion

Sue Jones has been promoted to
full professor of worship ministry in the Lincoln Christian
University School of Undergraduate Studies, effective June 1. Jones
joined the LCU faculty in 1996 as a music instructor.

In her role as professor of worship ministry, Jones serves as a
vocalist coach and provides instruction in aural skills and
keyboard. She leads and accompanies worship during LCU' s weekly
undergraduate chapel and is involved in the annual Christmas in the
Chapel production. An accomplished pianist, Jones serves on the
worship team at Eastview Christian Church in Normal and often leads
worship for LCU' s annual Christian Women' s Conference.
She holds a bachelor' s degree in sacred music from Lincoln
Christian University (1977) and a master' s in music from Pittsburgh
State University (1996).
During her sabbatical in the spring of 2011, Jones studied with
Dr. Reid Alexander, who chairs the Graduate Music Department at the
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

LCU faculty receiving the advanced rank of full professor
generally have a doctorate and 10 years of professional experience,
or a master' s degree and 12 years of professional experience.
Additionally, potential candidates for full professorship must have
demonstrated continuous improvement and significant professional
achievement as an associate professor for at least five years.
