LINCOLN — Robert D. Bishop, 86, of
Lincoln, died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 7:50 a.m. at Memorial Medical
Center in Springfield.

LINCOLN-Robert D. "Bob" Bishop, 86, of Lincoln
passed away at 7:50 am April 3, 2014 at Memorial
Medical Center, Springfield.
Bob was born May 16, 1927 in Lincoln, IL the son of
Revie Elbert and Hazel Ann McCain Bishop. He married
Josephine Ann Hickey December 6, 1947 in Lincoln.
She survives him in Lincoln.
Bob is survived by his children: Robert E. (Ann)
Bishop of Lincoln; John E. "Jack" Bishop of Lincoln;
Michael J. (Marni) Bishop of Sibley; James H. (Paula
McQuellon) Bishop of Lincoln; Mindy Ann (Todd)
Courtwright of Lincoln; Donna Marie (Ron) Billington
of Bellevue, NE; one sister: Virginia J. (Glenn)
McLain of Panama City, FL; 20 grandchildren; and 27
great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his
parents and one granddaughter: April Marie Bishop.

Bob retired in 1984 from CILCO as a substation
foreman. His tour of duty was served in the Pacific
in the US Navy during WW II. Bob was a lifetime
member of the American Legion Post #263; 40 & 8; and
a lifetime member of the International Brotherhood
of Electrical Workers #51.
Services for Bob will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday,
April 8, 2014 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home, Lincoln with Rev. Jeffrey Laible
officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 pm
Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the
service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Holy Cross
Cemetery with full Military Rites by the Lincoln
American Legion Post #263. Memorials may be given to
the American Legion Post #263 or Pulmonary Rehab at
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
