Vernon P. Charron, 85, of Lincoln, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at
12:45 a.m. at Lincoln Christian Village.

LINCOLN-Vernon P. Charron, 85, of Lincoln died at
12:45 a.m. April 7, 2014 at Lincoln Christian
Village.
Vernon was born November 30, 1928 in Lincoln, the
son of Edward and Marie Huskins Charron. He married
Anna J. Robbins May 7, 1947 in Lincoln. She survives
in Lincoln.
Vernon is survived by his children: Roy (Chie)
Charron of Japan; Kenneth (Ally) Charron of Hayward,
CA; Linda (Larry) Norman of Niles, MI; Gloria (Bill)
Parker of Lincoln; Sandra (Calvin E.) Allen of
Lincoln; Carolyn (George) Peden of Bloomington;
Gayla Charron of Lincoln; Elizabeth (Kevin) Johnson
of Pekin; brothers: Arnold Charron of Lincoln; Tommy
(Linda) Charron of Lincoln; sisters: Elsie May
Mileham of Lincoln; Janet Woody of Sumner, MO; Wanda
(Marvin ) Langley of Robinson; 22 grandchildren; 27
great grandchildren and five great great
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Gregory;
one grandson: Shane Young; and one brother: Wayne.
Vernon retired Jan. 1, 1991 after 20 years as
mechanic and driver for Contractor’s Ready Mix of Lincoln.
He also worked at Deer Creek Coal Mine for 20 years. He was
a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church. He loved
Nascar and raced sprint cars and stock cars.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday,
April 11, 2014 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home,
Lincoln with Rev. Doug Bowers officiating. Visitation
will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. prior to service. Memorials may
be given to the family.
