Saturday evening after enjoying a Guzzardo-catered meal that included pork tenderloin or chicken
Parmesan, a
variety of vegetable sides as well as the Guzzardo special pasta
salads, dinner rolls, cupcakes and beverages, guests settled down to
witness the induction of several alumni into the District 27 and
Lincoln Junior High School Alumni Wall of Honor.
District 27 board president
Steven Rohrer served as the master of ceremonies. He began by
speaking about District 27 and the year as it has progressed thus
far. He offered an update on Laverda Taylor, who was in
attendance early in the evening but fell ill and was taken to
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital by the Logan County Paramedics. He reported that Taylor was resting and that her vital signs were
stable.
He then introduced Dr. Robert
Kidd, who is currently serving as one of two interim superintendents
for the district and also as a member of the board, to assist in giving
out the Honored Alumni awards.
Of the 10 recipients, five were
present to accept their awards personally.
