            		CHESTNUT — James K. Strachan, 86, of 
			Chestnut, died Thursday April 3, 2014, at 5 p.m. at Vonderlieth 
			Living Center in Mount Pulaski. (Below is a copy of 
							the obituary from the funeral home.) ___ 
							Chestnut: James K. Strachan, 86, of Chestnut, IL 
							passed away at 5:00 P.M. Thursday April 3, 2014 at 
							Vonderlieth Living Center, in Mt. Pulaski. 
							James was born on June 2, 1927 in Council Bluffs, 
							Iowa, to James K. and Helen Kolbeck Stachan Sr. He 
							married Edna Donnan on July 2, 1948 in Decatur, IL. 
							She survives him. They recently celebrated their 
							65th wedding anniversary. 
							James worked as a tool and die maker at Borg Warner 
							in Decatur and retired from Caterpillar in 1989. He 
							proudly served his country in the United States Navy 
							and was a member of the Mt. Pulaski American Legion 
							Post #447. | 
                    
					 
							Also surviving him is one daughter Kathy (Walter) 
							Kauzlarich of Decatur, IL, two grandchildren, 
							Michelle (James) Gillispie and Shannon Bornteger, 
							two step-grandchildren Linda Kauzlarich and Diana 
							Kauzlarich, one great granddaughter Megan Borntreger 
							and three step-great grandchildren, David, Jacob and 
							Tatiana. 
							He was preceded in death by his parents, 
							one son Larry Lee Strachan, one brother and one 
							sister. 
							Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M 
							Wednesday April 9, 2014 at Laenna Cemetery, Chestnut 
							with the Mt. Pulaski American Legion Post #447 
							conducting military rites. 
							Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mt. Pulaski
							is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, 
							memorials may be made to the Mt. Pulaski American 
							Legion Post #447 or to the Chestnut Fire Department. |
