			Carley J. McLaughlin, 87, of Lincoln, died Thursday, April 17, 2014, 
			at 6:35 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. (Below is a copy of 
							the obituary from the funeral home.) ___ 
							Carley J. McLaughlin, 87, of Lincoln passed away at 
							6:35 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Abraham 
							Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln. 
							Carley was born February 25, 1927 in Paxton, IL ; 
							the daughter of William S. and Elizabeth Patton 
							Nelson. She married Walter McLaughlin May 5, 1951 in 
							Lincoln, IL. He preceded her in death December 30, 
							2013.

							She is also survived by one son: Don W. (Caryn) 
							McLaughlin; two daughters: Marsha S. (Bill) 
							Utterback; Janice K. (Doug) Robbins, all of Lincoln; 
							sisters: Kathleen Sprehe of Elmhurst, IL; Sue Ellen 
							Fairfield of Foosland, IL; grandchildren: Brandy, 
							Carrie, Sarah, Shanan, Josh, Lyndsey, Misty, Adam, 
							Shane; two step grandchildren: Joshua and Harley 
							Utterback; great grandchildren: Brandon, Carley, 
							Gavin, Elijah, Jada, Mia, Hunter, Hannah, Alyssa, 
							Nancy Ann; step great grandchildren: Aven and Daykon 
							Utterback. She was preceded in death by her parents, 
							husband, her brother Sherman Nelson, one daughter 
							Nancy J. McLaughlin Anderson. 
							Carley was a cook at the Lincoln Community High 
							School and she was a member of the Lincoln Christian 
							Church. Carley loved to watch humming birds at her 
							humming bird feeder, collecting ornamental roosters 
							and chickens, and she loved her cat Rosie. 
							Carley chose to be cremated. Memorial services for 
							Carley and Walter McLaughlin will be held at 2 P.M. 
							on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 
							Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln 
							with Brandon Boyd officiating. A visitation will be 
							held from noon to 2 P.M. prior to the service on 
							Thursday. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery following 
							the service. Memorials in her name may be given to 
							St. Jude's Children Cancer Research, Humane Society 
							of Logan County, or to the American Cancer Society.
