MOUNT PULASKI — Alexis Bowles,
daughter of Bryan Bowles and Tina Johansson of Mount Pulaski, has
been named April Senior-of-the-Month at Mount Pulaski High School.
She was selected for this honor based on the criteria of
scholarship, leadership, service and character.

Academically, Alexis is one of the top students in the Class of 2014
at Mount Pulaski High School. She has been very involved in school
and in the community. She has been a member of FFA for two years,
FCCLA for four years and Spirit Squad for four years. She is the
senior class treasurer and works in the community as a bank teller
and as a lifeguard at the Mount Pulaski pool. She is also going on a
mission trip to Guatemala with the Mount Pulaski Christian Church in
June.
Alexis plans on attending Lincoln Land Community College in the
fall and then transferring to a university after two years to pursue
a degree in neuroscience so she can have a career studying
neuromuscular diseases.

The Senior-of-the-Month program is sponsored by Johnson's
Food Center and Mount Pulaski Pharmacy. Monthly award winners
receive a $50 award paid to the college they plan to attend, and
they compete for the Senior-of-the-Year honor in May.
