[August 07, 2014]
LINCOLN - Due to local
interest, this Friday, August 8 an additional
informational session will be held at Heartland
Community College’s downtown campus in Lincoln for
anyone interested in taking part in an 8-week long
training program designed to prepare them for work in a
manufacturing setting. The session will begin at 10am.
It is open to anyone who is unemployed or
under-employed. |
Heartland Community College, the Accelerated Training for
Illinois Manufacturers (ATIM) program, and the Lincoln/Logan County
Development Partnership have collaborated to design and deliver this
special manufacturing skills training program for qualifying
individuals in Logan County and throughout Central Illinois.
The program selects individuals to receive “paid for” specialized training
based on the needs of local employers. This training is in response to the
growing “skills gap” identified by area manufacturers. The training program
focuses on industry recognized skill training, as well as on-the-job training
designed to produce employees who are ready for work on day one.
In addition to Friday’s Informational Session in Lincoln, there will also be a
session held August 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the Clinton Campus Building
Richland Community College, 140 Sunrise Court, Clinton, IL
Training is anticipated to begin the first week in September.
