[August 12, 2014]Aug 11 (The Sports Xchange) - New
York Yankees pitcher Michael Pineda will skip his next minor league
rehab start and instead take the mound for the Yankees on Wednesday
against the Baltimore Orioles.
Esmil Rogers was initially tabbed to be New York's starter.

Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder Andrew MuCutchen was placed on the
15-day disabled list with a fracture in his lower left ribcage,
retroactive to Aug. 4.
Right-hander Casey Sadler was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis
and will pitch out of the bullpen.

Minnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer was on his way to Houston
and will come off the disabled list, according to MLB.com.
Mauer has been sidelined for a month with a strained oblique muscle.
He is reportedly scheduled to be activated for Monday night's game
against the host Astros.
The Baltimore Orioles held out shorstop J.J. Hardy for a second straight
day due to a sprained left thumb injury he suffered in this weekend's
series against the Cardinals. Manager Buck Showalter said it is
"day-to-day" for Hardy at this point.

The Detroit Tigers will recall left-hander Robbie Ray (1-1. 4.70) from
Toledo on Tuesday night and he will start against Pittsburgh
right-hander Edinson Volquez (9-7, 3.70) in the finale of the two-game
series. Ray made three starts and a relief appearance with the Tigers in
