[August 12, 2014]  Aug 11 (The Sports Xchange) - Former Miami Heat player Greg Oden was charged Monday by Indiana prosecutors with felony battery for allegedly punching his ex-girlfriend in the face during a fight.

Oden's felony offense carries a penalty of one to six years behind bars.

Cleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Andrew Wiggins told Kansas coach Bill Self that he welcomes a trade that will send him to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Wiggins, the No. 1 pick in this year's draft, is a key piece in the proposed Kevin Love deal.

The Cleveland Cavaliers signed free agent center Alex Kirk.

Kirk, 7-feet and 245 pounds, went undrafted this year out of New Mexico. He averaged 10.0 points on 48.8 percent shooting, 6.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 25.3 minutes per game over his collegiate career.

The NBA fined the Toronto Raptors $25,000 for comments that rapper and team ambassador Drake made at a recent concert about Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant that were deemed as tampering, ESPN.com reported.

According to the report, Drake made what the NBA considered to be a public pitch to Durant, who was in attendance at the Toronto concert. The league considered Drake's comments a violation of its anti-tampering rules.

Golden State Warriors guard Nemanja Nedovic's foot injury is reportedly not as serious as initially believed and he hopes to represent his native Serbia in the upcoming FIBA World Cup.

Nedovic, a point guard, is waiting for the Warriors to give him permission to play in the tournament in Spain later this month. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
