list with a strained oblique.
He is expected to miss four to six weeks with the injury.

Cincinnati Reds right-hander Homer Bailey, who has been dealing with
elbow soreness, will skip Wednesday's start against the Boston Red
Sox.
"We're optimistic that by Saturday (at Colorado) he'll be good to
go," Reds manager Bryan Price said.

Veteran right-hander Josh Roenicke signed a minor-league deal with
the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday, according to MLB.com.
The former major leaguer spent most of this season with the
Washington Nationals' Triple-A team, posting a 4-6 record with a
5.45 ERA in 23 games (15 starts) spanning 79 1/3 innings.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards remains a "prime candidate" to host the
2016 All-Star Game, according to Major League Baseball commissioner
Bud Selig.
Selig made the comments shortly after the New York Yankees and
Baltimore Orioles were rained out Tuesday.

Detroit Tigers right-hander Justin Verlander underwent an MRI on
Tuesday in Detroit and it revealed inflammation but no structural
damage in his shoulder.
Verlander left Monday night's loss at Pittsburgh after one inning
because of a sore shoulder and is doubtful for his scheduled start
Sunday against Seattle, though the Tigers are hopeful he will avoid
going on the disabled list.

Tampa Bay Rays minor league outfielder Joshua Sale received a second
50-game suspension without pay from the commissioner's office on Tuesday
after failing another drug test.
Sale was also suspended in 2012 for methamphetamine use.

Washington Nationals right fielder Jayson Werth missed his fourth
straight start with on Tuesday night a sore right shoulder. He was
scheduled to undergo an MRI.
With Werth out, Michael Taylor made his major league debut and batted
eighth against the New York Mets.

Houston Astros outfielder George Springer has been shut down for two
weeks as part of his ongoing battle with a left quad strain that landed
him on the 15-day disabled list July 20.
Springer was pulled from his rehab assignment last Wednesday, and
following rounds of weekend treatment in Houston, the determination was
