 James Paxton remained unbeaten as a starter with six strong innings 
			as Seattle stretched their winning streak to five games.
 
 Paxton (3-0) allowed one run and five hits and struck out two for 
			the victory. The left-hander is 6-0 in nine career starts. Three 
			relievers finished up for Seattle.
 
 Robinson Cano hit a solo home run and scored twice for the Mariners, 
			who have won nine of 10.
 
 The first five Mariners reached in the second inning when they 
			scored the first three runs of the game.

 Rays 5, Yankees 0
 
 Tampa Bay completed their long climb back to .500 with their shutout 
			of New York at Tropicana Field.
 
 With the win, the Rays moved to 61-61 and became the fourth team in 
			major league history to reach the .500 mark after being 18 games

			Right-hander Alex Cobb struck out eight batters over 7 1/3 scoreless 
			innings. Cobb (8-6, 3.19 ERA) has allowed two runs or fewer in seven 
			straight starts, tying a franchise record.
 
 Reliever Brad Boxberger entered in the eighth, gave up a single to 
			Derek Jeter that loaded the bases then struck out Jacoby Ellsbury 
			and Mark Teixeira to help preserve the shutout.

 Mike Aviles' home run leading off the bottom of the 11th inning gave 
			Cleveland the victory over visiting Baltimore.
 
 The win went to right-hander Scott Atchison (6-0), who pitched two

 Astros 5, Red Sox 3 (10 innings)
 
 Houston did something they had never done before.
 
 The Astros won a game at Fenway Park.
 
 Houston, which tied the score on a bizarre baserunning play in the 
			eighth inning, got a pop-fly, two-run double by rookie Jake 
			Marisnick in the 10th inning to pull out the victory over Boston.
 
 The win came in the ninth game at Fenway for the Astros, who were in 
			the National League until last season.

 Cardinals 4, Padres 2
 
 Unheralded Lance Lynn continues to pile up the innings and wins for 
			St. Louis.
 
 Lynn worked six solid innings as the Cardinals solidified their grip 
			on the first wild card spot in the National League with the victory 
			over San Diego at Busch Stadium.
 
 Lynn (13-8) scattered six hits.

 Diamondbacks 3, Marlins 2
 
 Arizona slugged two home runs in the game's first five at-bats and 
			held on to defeat Miami.
 
 Right-hander Trevor Cahill (3-8) allowed two runs in 6 2/3 innings 
			to earn his second victory in the past week. Cahill was helped by 2 
			1/3 innings of scoreless relief pitching.

 Atlanta slugged four homers in a game for the second time in eight 
			days, opening an interleague series against Oakland with a victory.
 
 Rookie shortstop Phil Gosselin connected against reliever Jesse 
			Chavez in the sixth inning for his first homer in the majors. Justin 
			Upton, Evan Gattis and Freddie Freeman also homered.

 Mets 3, Cubs 2
 
 Eric Campbell hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning, and 
			right-hander Zack Wheeler threw 6 2/3 strong innings as New York 
			edged Chicago.
 
 Wheeler (8-8) gave up two runs and four hits but none after the 
			third.

 Adam LaRoche and Bryce Harper each had two hits and two RBIs, and Denard 
		Span had three hits and two stolen bases as Washington won its fourth

 Phillies 5, Giants 3 (10 innings)
 
 Cody Asche hit a two-run, game-tying home run in the eighth inning and 
		opened a two-run 10th with a double as Philadelphia beat San Francisco.
 
 After Asche's double, the Phillies loaded the bases with one out. 
		Reliever Javier Lopez then grazed Chase Utley in the right knee with his 
		next pitch, forcing in the tie-breaking run.

 Brewers 6, Dodgers 3
 
 Pinch-hitter Lyle Overbay's bases-clearing double keyed a five-run surge 
		in the eighth inning as Milwaukee rallied to defeat Los Angeles.
 
 Overbay's tiebreaking hit, a run-scoring single by second baseman 
		Scooter Gennett and an RBI double by left fielder Khris Davis, boosted 
		Milwaukee to its 10th win in the past 14 games in a clash of division 
		leaders at Dodger Stadium.

 Kris Negron singled home the winning run in the ninth inning to give 
		Johnny Cueto and Cincinnati the victory over Colorado.
 
 Cueto (15-6) set a career high with his seventh straight win and matched

 Royals 6, Twins 5
 
 A five-run fourth inning powered Kansas City past Minnesota, with a 
		bases-loaded double by former Twin Josh Willingham doing the bulk of the 
		damage.
 
 Willingham's sharp ground ball got by third base and rolled into the 
		left-field corner, scoring all three runners to give the Royals the lead 
		for good at 3-2.

 Angels 5, Rangers 4
 
 Kole Calhoun went 3-for-4, including a three-run home run, and Los 
		Angeles held off a late Texas rally.
 
 Calhoun's 13th home run broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth, and David Freese 
		scored the winning run in the seventh on a fielder's choice to make a 
		winner out of Garrett Richards (13-4).
 
 Richards struck out seven while giving up two runs and walking none over 
		7 1/3 innings.

 White Sox 11, Blue Jays 5
 
 Chicago pounded out 17 hits, two shy of its season high, and scored five 
		runs in the first inning en route to a win over Toronto.
 
 In the White Sox's previous six games, they had hit just .206 with 13
