							Peter “Pete” Herold Zeitler, 68, of Beason, passed 
							away August 14, 2014 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial 
							Hospital.
 Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 
							2014 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in 
							Lincoln. Funeral services will be Monday, August 18, 
							2014 at 9:00 a.m.also at the funeral home with 
							Pastor Larry Crawford Officiating and military 
							honors performed by the American Legion Post 263. 
							Cremation rites will then be accorded.
 
 Pete was born December 1, 1946 in Waldsassen, 
							Germany, the son of Erna Katharina Zeitler Gaertner. 
							He married Donna Yagge on April 18, 1981 in Milstadt, 
							IL.
 
 Pete proudly served his country in the United States 
							Army. He retired from Mitsubishi in Normal, IL. 
							after more than 20 years of service. He was 
							currently serving as the Oran Township Supervisor. 
							He was a member of the American Legion Post 848, an 
							avid bowler at Logan Lanes, and a member of the 
							Genealogy Association. He enjoyed bowling, wood 
							working, gardening, was an expert blacksmith, an 
							avid auction attendee, and enjoyed history and 
							genealogy.

							Surviving are his wife Donna Zeitler of Beason, IL.; 
							his children: Christine Deanna Zeitler Snow of 
							Excelsior Springs, MO., Laura Beth Zeitler Galvin 
							(Lloyd Allen) of Herrick, IL., Peter Herold Zeitler 
							of Mowequa, IL., and Sonya Mari Zeitler of Lincoln, 
							IL.; his siblings: Iris Carroll of Findlay, IL., 
							AnneMarie Trumble of FL., Ruth Maxwell of TX., and 
							Harald Preisinger of TX.; 12 grandchildren and 1 
							great grandchild also survive.
 He was preceded in death by his grandmother, his 
							mother, his son Lucas Andrew Zeitler, and one 
							brother.
 
 Memorial donations may be made to Oran Township and 
							will be accepted at the funeral home.
