			 Braves 3, Reds 1 (12 innings)
Atlanta starter Mike Minor flirted with a no-hitter as the Braves
beat the slumping Cincinnati Reds 3-1 in 12 innings.

Minor held Cincinnati hitless until center fielder Billy Hamilton's
RBI single with two outs in the eighth tied the score 1-1.

Minor, who almost became the first Braves pitcher to throw a
no-hitter since Kent Mercker accomplished the feat in April 1994,
walked four and struck out five in his 107-pitch outing.

Cincinnati (61-68) extended its losing streak to seven, while
Atlanta (68-61) defeated the Reds for the fifth straight time this
			season.

No visiting pitcher has thrown a regular season no-hitter at
			Cincinnati's home stadium since 1971.
