Obituary
Lincoln- David L. Moriearty, 76, passed away at 3:09
p.m. on August 23, 2014 at his home.
David was born on January 31, 1938 in Lincoln; son
of James D. and Lucille Carson Moriearty.
David is survived by two brothers: Jim Moriearty and
Mike (Gerlyn) Moriearty both of Lincoln; two
sisters: Jackie Simpson of Lincoln and Marjorie
(Jack) Poffenbarger of Mason City; and two
sisters-in law: Betty G. Moriearty of Lincoln and
Darlene Moriearty of Effingham. He was preceded in
death by his parents, two brothers: John and Norman,
and four sisters: Patricia, Suzanne, Carolyn, and
Stephanie.
David was a machinist at Caterpillar, an auto
mechanic, and loved repairing anything he could take
apart. David’s kindness and extensive knowledge
about a wide variety of interests, and his
mechanical expertise have been and will continue to
be a greatly appreciated influence on his seventy
seven nieces and eighty eight nephews. His hand was
always out to help his family and friends. |
Cremation Rites for David will be accorded. There
will be a celebration of life held at a later date.
Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, IL. Memorials may be made
to the Salvation Army, St. Jude’s Research Hospital
or a charity of choice.
