Obituary
Betty J. Drabing, 83, passed away at 11:10 a.m. on
August 22, 2014 at Vonderlieth Living Center in
Mount Pulaski.
Betty was born on June 26, 1931 in Litchfield;
daughter of James E. and Pauline Smith Carey. She
was united in marriage to William E. Drabing in 1952
in Pokakonis, Arkansas; he preceded her in death on
August 20, 1993.
Betty is survived by one son: William E. Drabing Jr.
of Ellijay, GA; four daughters: Jeannette (Gary)
Hinkle of Springfield; Donna L. (Ralph) Hartman of
Mount Pulaski; Connie (Jim Ervin) Buzzard of Blue
Mound; Carol Drabing of Ellijay, GA; Three brothers:
Jim Carey of Illiopolis; Max Carey of Illiopolis;
Jerry Carey of Buffalo; one sister: Luella List of
Springfield; twelve grandchildren and six great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
parents, six brothers, one sister, and one grandson.

Betty was a member of Illiopolis Christian Church.
She loved gardening, bowling, and bingo.
Betty chose to be cremated. No services will be
held. Memorials may be given to Vonderlieth Living
Center in Mount Pulaski. Services were entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski.
