							Obituary 
							Mabel Park, 97, of Waynesville, passed away at 8:01 
							p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at her home.
 Graveside services for Mrs. Park will be held on 
							Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Wiley 
							Cemetery in Colfax. Mr. Tony Billingsley will 
							officiate.
 
 Mabel Meeks was born November 2, 1917, in Anchor, 
							Ill., the daughter of Harley and Hansiene Peek 
							Meeks. She married Philip Park on December 25, 1935, 
							in Colfax. He preceded her in death on April 2, 
							1963.
 
 Mabel is survived by her daughters: Phyllis 
							Granacher of Waynesville and Mabel Houchens of 
							Ellsworth; five grandchildren: Rory Houchens of 
							Ellsworth, Lisa Smith of LeRoy, Leslie Houchens of 
							Bloomington, Laurie (Thomas) Sanders and Page 
							(Douglas) Wood, both of Normal; five 
							great-grandchildren: Rachel (Michael) Lockett of 
							Minnesota, Louis (Becky) Sanders of Normal, 
							Elizabeth (Marcus) Deeker of New York, Taylor 
							Sanders of Kentucky and Jeffrey Smith of Ellsworth; 
							seven great-great-grandchildren: Michael, Emma and 
							Evelynn Lockett; Matthew Sanders; and Teagan, Ashlin 
							and Callan Decker; five sisters: Rosemary Woodward 
							and Ina Westerfield of Fairbury, Olive Riggs of 
							Quincy, Nellie Johansen of Champaign and Bevelyn 
							Arahood of Virginia and one brother-in-law: Robert 
							Lawrence of Fairbury.

							She was preceded in death by three brothers: Otto, 
							Clarence and Roscoe Meeks and two sisters: Agnes 
							Phillips and Inez Lawrence. 
							Mabel was a 1935 graduate of Colfax High School 
							where she earned the honor of Salutatorian of her 
							graduating class. She worked for State Farm Life 
							Insurance Company for 23 years as a re-insurance 
							accounting clerk and retired in 1982. She was a 
							member of Grace Methodist Church of Bloomington. She 
							graced many homes with her beautiful crochet, 
							macramé, embroidery and sewing.
 Memorials may be made to McLean County Humane 
							Society or Living Hope Christian Church in Downs.
 
 Funeral arrangements are entrusted with 
							Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
