Obituary Hartsburg- Katherine A. Gehrke,
72, of rural Hartsburg passed away on Thursday,
December 18, 2014 at 5:57 p.m. at OSF Medical Center
in Peoria.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday ,
December 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Family
Catholic Church in Lincoln with Rev. Jeffrey G.
Laible officiating.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2014
from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family
Catholic Church.
A Rosary Service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m.
Sunday prior to the visitation.
Burial will be in Richmond Grove Cemetery at rural
New Holland.
Katherine A. Gehrke was born on March 8, 1942 in
Monticello, the daughter of George E. and Margaret
Stoerger. She was united in marriage to Garland H.
Gehrke on July 8, 1961 in Bement. He survives.
Also surviving Mrs. Gehrke are her children: Georgia
(Todd) Lowman, Troy (Colleen) Gehrke, and Jennifer
Gehrke. Six Granddaughters: Kelsey (Matthew) Boyer,
Samantha Lowman, Danielle Gehrke, Alisha (Justin)
Wahls, Rochelle Gehrke, Haley Gehrke, one great
grandson: Isaac Martinez, two sisters: Betty Lou
(Woody) Dean, Pege (Paul) Barnes, two brothers: Rick
(Lynn) Stoerger, Doug (Jody) Stoerger, her beloved
dog Rocco. |
She was preceded in death by one son: Christopher
Gehrke , one infant sister Georgia Lee Stoerger and
her parents.
Mrs. Gehrke graduated from the Bement High School
in 1960.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Mrs. Gehrke and her husband have owned and
operated Garland Gehrke Trucking since 1962.
Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church
or American Chianina Association to support the
Summer 2015 NJHS.
Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
