Doris Irene Lovell, 91, of Lincoln, passed away
December 25, 2014 at home surrounded by her
children.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday,
December 29, 2014 at First Cumberland Presbyterian
Church in Lincoln. Funeral Services will follow at 1
p.m. also at the church. Burial will be at 11 a.m.
on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Park Hill Cemetery,
Bloomington. Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in
Lincoln is handling services.
Doris was born June 6, 1923 in Roodhouse, the
daughter of Wayne Harmon Foley and Irene Dell (Bigham)
Foley. She married Everett Henry “Buzz” Lovell. He
preceded her in death in 1959.
She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian
Church in Lincoln where she served as a Sunday
School teacher, the head of the Crusader’s Group,
and as a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian
Women’s Group. Doris graduated from Illinois State
University, Normal with a degree in teaching. She
taught elementary school at Irving Elemantary School
in Bloomington for many years. She also was a tutor
and had a daycare in her home. Children were the
light of her life and educating them gave her
purpose and great joy. |
Surviving are her children Michael Everett Lovell of
Lincoln and Susan Marley of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her
husband, her brother Wayne Luke Foley and her best
friend Betty Totzell.
Memorial donations may be made to First Cumberland
Presbyterian Church.
