Devils 3, Penguins 1
Jaromir Jagr scored the go-ahead goal with 1:20 left in the second
period, the 24th goal of his career against the team with which he
started his Hall of Fame career, leading the New Jersey Devils to a
victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The victory snapped a three-game winless streak for the Devils
(13-18-7), who won for only the second time in their last 10 games.
The loss was the fourth straight for the Penguins (22-9-5).
Sidney Crosby, having scored just one goal over his last 12 games
since returning after a bout with the mumps, scored a goal of
highlight film variety to open the scoring at 14:37 of the first
period.

Blackhawks 5, Predators 4 (Shootout)
Captain Jonathan Toews was the only player to score in a shootout,
lifting the Chicago Blackhawks to a come-from-behind win over the
Nashville Predators.
Nashville lead 4-3 late in the third period, with left winger James
Neal leading the way with a pair of goals, but Chicago tied the game
with 1:13 left in regulation on Bryan Bickell's score.
Chicago remains atop the NHL Western Conference with a 25-10-2 mark,
while its closest challenger, Nashville, falls to 23-9-3.

Canadiens 3, Hurricanes 1
The Montreal Canadiens received second-period goals from Jiri Sekac
and Lars Eller to defeat the Carolina Hurricanes.
Montreal goaltender Carey Price stopped 28 shots as the Canadiens
(23-11-2) have won six of their last seven games, outscoring their
opponents 24-9 during in that stretch.

Blues 3, Avalanche 0
Martin Brodeur needed to stop only 16 shots to extend his NHL record
with his 125th shutout, and the St. Louis Blues snapped a four-game
winless streak with a victory over the Colorado Avalanche.
Brodeur, playing his sixth and perhaps last game for the Blues as
Brian Elliott prepares to return from a knee injury, earned the
691st win of his career, also tops in NHL history.
Vladimir Tarasenko notched his 22nd goal of the season.

Lightning 3, Maple Leafs 2
Steven Stamkos scored his 20th goal of the season at 11:05 of the
third period to give the Tampa Bay Lightning a win over the Toronto
Maple Leafs.
The Lightning (23-11-4) have won three straight while Toronto
(20-14-3) has lost five of its last six.
James Reimer finished with 38 saves in the loss for Toronto.

Flames 2, Kings 1
Curtis Glencross and Markus Granlund each scored in a 62-second span
in the first period, and goaltender Jonas Hiller did his part with
26 saves as the Flames posted a third consecutive victory.
Calgary improved to 20-15-3. Tyler Toffoli had the lone goal for the
Kings (18-12-7).

Islanders 4, Capitals 3 (Overtime)
Defenseman Johnny Boychuk scored a power play goal with 2:07 left in
overtime as the New York Islanders avoided a disastrous loss by
edging the Washington Capitals.
The Islander, led 3-0 entering the third period before the Capitals
(18-11-7) tied it on goals Eric Fehr, Nicklas Backstrom and Alex
Ovechkin.
With the win, the Islanders (24-11-1) moved into a tie for first
place in the Metropolitan Division with the Pittsburgh Penguins, who
lost at New Jersey on Saturday.

Bruins 5, Red Wings 2
A three-goal first period paved the way to a solid victory by Boston
over Detroit.
Reilly Smith and centers Gregory Campbell and Carl Soderberg all
beat Detroit goaltender Jimmy Howard in the first 17:25 of the game.
Seth Griffith and left winger Chris Kelly also scored for Boston.
Justin Abdelkader and center Tomas Tatar scored for Detroit.

Stars 3, Rangers 2
Antoine Roussel's goal early in the second period ended up being the
deciding blow as Dallas edged the New York Rangers.
Kari Lehtonen stopped 28 of 30 shots for Dallas (16-14-5), who also
got goals from rookie defenseman John Klingberg and right winger
Ales Hemsky.
New York (19-11-4) suffered its first loss since Dec. 6 at Detroit,
a span of eight games.

Senators 5, Sabres 2
A hat trick by Senators winger Bobby Ryan sparked Ottawa to a
victory over the Buffalo Sabres.
The win snapped the Senators (15-14-7) losing streak at three games,
while the Sabres (14-20-3) lost for the fifth time in their last six
games.

Wild 3, Jets 2
The Minnesota Wild scored three times in the second period to
salvage a split of a home-and-home series with the Winnipeg Jets.
Ryan Carter, Justin Fontaine and Marco Scandella all got on the
board as the Wild improved to 17-13-4 and snapped a five-game losing
streak.
The Jets fell to 19-11-7.

Coyotes 4, Flyers 2
Arizona center Antoine Vermette had his fourth career hat trick and
goalie Devan Dubnyk cemented his hold on the starting job when the
Coyotes beat the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Coyotes (14-18-4) won their third straight game, tying a season
high, and Dubnyk earned 30 saves to win for the fourth time in his
last five starts.
