At the club's Jan. 22 weekly
meeting, Don Jordan was named the Lincoln Rotary Member of the
Quarter for October-December 2013. Jordan is being recognized for
his continued leadership in the club's annual citrus sale. He is the
highest seller each year, in addition to organizing, coordinating
and leading the sales by the other members of the Lincoln Rotary.

Jordan is employed at Graue Inc. as the courtesy shuttle driver. His
wife, Shirley, also works at Graue. Don retired as general manager
of the J.C. Penney store in downtown Lincoln.
He joined the Rushville Rotary Club in March 1969 because it was
a club of fellow business people and it allowed him to get to know
and interact with people with the same interests. He joined the
Lincoln Rotary in January 1975 when he transferred to the Lincoln
Penney's store.
Jordan said his favorite part of Rotary are the projects where
all Rotarians work together to raise funds to further the mission of
the organization to serve others and to place service above self. He
said those projects and their results help all of us prove the
existence of our being.
When he's not at Graue or dealing with Rotary citrus, he enjoys
following the University of Louisville Cardinals (his grandson,
Josh, is the manager of the football team), the St. Louis Cardinals
and the Lincoln Railers boys basketball team. He also enjoys
collecting coins.
