RHP Evan Meek signed a minor league contract with the Orioles on
Feb. 5 and received an invitation to spring training, the Baltimore
Sun reported. Meek, 30, pitched with the Pirates from 2008 to 2012,
going 7-7 with a 3.34 ERA in 156 relief appearances. Meek sent the
entire 2013 season with the Rangers' Triple-A affiliate in Round
Rock. He was 6-9 with a 4.50 ERA as both a reliever and starter.
Cleveland Indians: LaHair, Bryan
1B/OF Bryan LaHair signed a minor league contract with the Indians
on Feb. 5 and received a non-roster invitation to spring training.
LaHair, 31, is a veteran of three major league seasons with the
Mariners (2008) and Cubs (2011-12), compiling a career batting mark
of .260 with 26 doubles, 21 home runs and 56 RBIs in 195 games.
The left-handed hitting LaHair spent the 2013 season in Japan with
the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, and he hit .230/.306/.428 with 16 homers
and 57 RBIs in 111 games.

Free agent: Roe, Chaz
RHP Chaz Roe refused an outright assignment to Texas' Triple-A Round
Rock affiliate and became a free agent Feb. 5. Roe, 27, went 1-0
with a 4.03 ERA in 21 major league appearances for Arizona last
season. The Rangers claimed him off waivers from the Diamondbacks on
Nov. 1.
