J.M. Abbott & Associates has successful peer review

[February 12, 2014]  J.M. Abbott & Associates Ltd. announced that the firm has successfully completed a rigorous peer review of its accounting and auditing practice. The reviewers concluded that the firm’s system of quality control in effect for the year ended 2013 for the accounting and auditing practice was suitably designed and complied with to provide reasonable assurance of performing and reporting in conformity with applicable professional standards in all material respects.

J.M. Abbott & Associates participates in a practice-monitoring program approved by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the national professional organization of CPAs. A firm participating in the program must have an independent review of its accounting and auditing practice every three years. The peer review rating of "pass" indicated J.M. Abbott & Associates meets the accounting profession’s high standards of quality and professionalism.

The firm provides a full range of audit, accounting, tax, financial planning and consulting services for individuals, businesses and nonprofit organizations throughout the central Illinois area. The office is at 207 S. McLean St. in Lincoln.
