Wilma J. Harris-Wasson, 86, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014,
at The Christian Village.

Wilma J. Harris-Wasson, 86, of Lincoln, passed away
Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at The Christian Village.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday, February
21, 2014 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, IL. with
Brandon Boyd officiating.
Wilma was born January 9, 1928 in Decatur, IL., the
daughter of Wilbur R. and Emily J. (Thain) Helmick.
She graduated from Clinton Community High School and
Millikin University in Decatur, IL. She studied at
Northwestern University School of Medical Technology
and was registered as a Medical Technologist by the
American Society of Clinical Pathologists. She
earned her Master of Science degree from Illinois
State University.

She was employed by Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital from 1966 until 1988, retiring as
Laboratory Supervisor. She returned in 1989 to work
part time as a microbiologist, retiring again in
1998.
She married Edmund Ray Harris in 1952 in Chicago,
IL. She later married David Wasson in Lincoln, IL.
Surviving are her son E. Scott Harris and his wife
Valerie of Pekin, IL., and one sister Marguerite
Thompson and her husband Halsey of Monticello, IL.
She was a long time member of Lincoln Christian
Church and the Friendship Corner Sunday School
Class.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lincoln
Christian Church.
Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln
has been entrusted with her care.
