Lincoln Junior High volleyball results

[February 21, 2014]  The Lincoln Junior High eighth-grade girls played Saturday in a round-robin volleyball tournament at home, where they placed second. The Lady Trojans competed against Tremont in their first match of the day, winning 25-8, 25-16. Stats leaders for LJHS were: 

• Allena Benninger: 6 aces, 13 service points 

• Grace Bossingham: 4 aces, 4 digs, 4 kills, 5 service points 

• Lexi Clark: 2 aces, 9 assists, 5 service points

• Ariana Spencer: 1 block, 3 kills

In the second match of the day, the girls defeated Midwest Central 25-16, 25-5. Individual stats were: 

• Emma Cline: 4 aces, 10 service points

• Lexi Clark: 7 aces, 7 assists, 11 service points

• Grace Bossingham: 2 aces, 5 kills, 6 service points 

The third match of the day was against Dee-Mack, which was also 2-0 for the day.  The LJHS girls fought hard but lost 17-25, 26-28. Stats for the match were: 

• Kerstin Osborne: 1 ace, 15 digs, 3 kills

• Grace Bossingham: 2 aces, 9 digs, 8 kills, 3 service points

• Allena Benninger: 2 aces, 4 points 

• Lexi Clark: 10 assists, 7 service points 

Tuesday
LJHS at Argenta-Oreana

The Lady Trojans were on the road Tuesday night to Argenta-Oreana, and both the seventh and eighth grade came back with a victory. 

The seventh grade won 25-14, 25-13. Stat leaders were: 

• Kate Maupin: 8 service points, 2 aces

• Jenifer Porlas: 13 service points, 6 aces, 3 kills

• Madi Tanner: 3 assists, 2 kills, 2 aces 

• Audrey Denninson: 3 kills 

• Madison Farris: 3 kills 

• Emily Craig: 1 assist, 1 kill, 7 service points, 2 aces 

The eighth-grade girls won in two games 25-15, 25-22. Stat leaders for the match were: 

• Grace Bossingham: 13 kills

• Lexi Clark: 10 assists, 8 service points 

• Emma Cline: 10 service points, 2 aces  

• Arianna Spencer: 2 kills 

Wednesday
LJHS vs. Chester-East Lincoln

The Lincoln Junior High volleyball team played Chester-East Lincoln on Wednesday. The sixth-graders started off the night with a victory.

"They have worked very hard all season and are starting to show a great deal of improvement!" said LJHS coach Danielle Lora. "Congratulations, ladies!"

The seventh-graders won in two games with scores of 25-16, 25-21. Stat leaders from the match were:

• Audrey Dennison: 7 service points

• Kate Maupin: 2 kills

• Madie Tanner: 1 assist

• Emily Craig: 12 service points, 5 aces

The eighth-graders won their match in two games with scores of 25-7, 25-16. Stat leaders were:

• Emma Cline: 14 service points, 4 aces

• Grace Bossingham: 6 kills

• Lexi Clark: 9 assists

• Arianna Spencer: 3 kills

• Kerstin Osborne: 4 aces, 6 service points
