"I have deep admiration and profound respect for Sheriff Nichols and
the way he has run the Logan County Sheriff’s Department for the
past 12 years," said Schock, R-Peoria. "His experience is
unparalleled, and his leadership and investment in Logan County has
translated to safety and better overall quality of life for its
citizens." Nichols has a 35-year career in law enforcement and
investigative experience. He oversees a department of nearly three
dozen employees and successfully sought grants that help protect
citizens. He has negotiated multiple police contracts with positive
resolutions. He consistently produces balanced budgets that have
translated into savings for taxpayers.

Nichols has led the charge to create the Logan County Drug
Suppression Unit that has stymied illegal manufacturing and
distribution of narcotics in Lincoln and Logan County.
"Nichols not only deserves a fourth term, he has earned it.
Continued seamless leadership at the sheriff’s department is
critical to a continued path of safety and protection and prosperous
future for Logan County residents," Schock said.
