[February 21, 2014]  LINCOLN — Earl Dean Hunter, 77, of Lincoln, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at UnityPoint Methodist in Peoria.

Lincoln- Earl Dean Hunter, 77, of Lincoln passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Unity Point Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

Private Graveside Services for Mr. Hunter will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Richmond Grove Cemetery at rural New Holland with Mr. Ryan Edgecombe officiating.

A Celebration of life open house will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church Education Building in Lincoln.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Earl Dean Hunter was born on January 17, 1937 in Elkhart the son of Edward S. and Helen Rhoads Hunter. He was united in marriage with Alberta Allen. She survives.

Also surviving are his children: Jeanna (Bob Rosene) Hunter of DeKalb, Keith (Kay) Hunter of Broadwell, Stepsons: Bruce Steen and John Steen both of Lincoln. His grandchildren: Deana (John) Brooks, Colton Brosamer both of Lincoln, Kara Hunter of Broadwell, Kelsie Messerole of Lincoln, Allison Hunter-Rosene, Rachal Hunter-Rosene both of DeKalb, Dustie and Desiree Steen of Lincoln, Triston Steen of Lincoln, great grandson Isiah Green of Lincoln, four sisters: Bonnie Herrin of Lincoln, Ila (Dale) Lowman of Springfield, Carol (Dave) Gissler of Lincoln, Wilma (Bill) Morris of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral Director

Earl Dean graduated from the Elkhart High School. He retired as a welder from Pittsburg Plate Glass, where he was a member of the Aluminum Workers Union.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lincoln. Earl Dean was an avid golfer and a diehard Cub and Miami Dolphins fan. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
