Five Lincoln High School athletes announce their college choices

[February 27, 2014]  LINCOLN — On Tuesday afternoon five Lincoln Community High School athletes signed their letters of intent for their chosen colleges.  The letters were signed during a special after-school assembly hosted by Athletic Director Sam Knox.  Knox provided the following information about each student.

Tyler Horchem

College: John A. Logan College - Carterville, IL

"It’s a good baseball program. I earned a full scholarship. Lt’s a chance for me to play at the next level."

4-year player; Al l-Central State 8 Conference as a Sophomore, Junior .; Most RBI’s & runs scored as a Sophomore & Junior.

Other sports & activities: Golf (4 yrs.) and Basketball (4 yrs.)


Alora Goodey

Parents: Josh & Jamie Goodey
Sport: Volleyball
College: Millikin University - Decatur, IL
Major: Physical Therapy

Why do you feel this college is the right choice for you?

"I chose Milliken University because it was the perfect fit for my athletic and academic needs. I felt that the atmosphere on the court and in the classroom would make for a great college experience."

"I love the campus community and the environment the staff and administration provide for their students. I already enjoy y and look forward to the Christian atmosphere there, and I am confident that the LCU professors will not only challenge me academically, but spiritual y as well. I am excited to be a part of LCU's long and strong volleyball tradition while building relationships with the girls on the team."
