The bus carrying the Salukis' players and assistant coach Anthony
Beane Sr. got stuck in a snowstorm while returning from Normal to Champaign and there was a chance they would have to
spend the night in the vehicle on Interstate 57 near Champaign.
"They have plenty of gas, heat and food, so they're just hanging
out," Southern Illinois athletic director Mario Moccia told the St.
Louis Post-Dispatch. "The worst-case scenario is they spend the
night on the bus right there. The best case is that they get a tow
truck in there and go to a hotel in Tuscola."
Sophomore guard Jalen Pendleton wrote on Twitter at 11:42 p.m. CT,
"Tow truck just got here!!!!"
The bus was off the road and was in no danger, Moccia told multiple
media outlets.

The Salukis' head coach, Barry Hinson, was stuck elsewhere in
his car, according to the Post-Dispatch. He was heading out on a
recruiting trip. Two other assistant coaches also were not on
the bus.
Southern Illinois lost 66-48 to Illinois State on Sunday
afternoon, dropping the Salukis' record to 4-11 overall, 0-2 in
Missouri Valley Conference play.
