minutes from the October 7, 2013 meeting as printed. Motion passed.
Old Business:
1) "Owned" hangar leases (Kevin Lessen/Eric Hill): Mr. Rohlfs
reminded the committee of the issue regarding the County ownership
of hangars on Airport property that were previously built by private
individuals. The agreement in place when the hangars were built
transfers ownership of the property to Logan County at the
expiration of the lease. For those individuals to continue occupying
the hangar(s), it is necessary for the committee to determine what
rent amount is reasonable for this circumstance. It was suggested a
lower amount be offered to the original builder/occupant of the
hangar, with possible increase to any future individuals signing a
lease when these spaces become vacant. A motion was made
by Mr. Ruben, seconded by Mr. Meister, to set the monthly lease
charge on the "Eric Hill hangar" at $76.00 per month beginning
December 1, 2013. All future rent charges will coincide with the
rent charges for the smaller, open hangars. Motion passed. A
motion was made by Mr. Ruben, seconded by Mr. Farmer, to set the
monthly lease charge on the "Kevin Lessen hangar" at $180.00 per
month beginning December 1, 2013. All future rent charges will
coincide with the rent charges for the new T-hangars. Motion passed.
2) 2013-14 budget: No changes are necessary before the budget is
passed by the Board later this month.
1) Weather station site modification (Land lease AAIA): The regional
National Weather Service office is installing a new geothermal
heating and cooling system at the Lincoln weather station. This is
simply an informational presentation for the committee.
2) Movie production – use of terminal building: A production company
from Chicago will be using the HIF hangar for an upcoming film. The
insurance company has been contacted to confirm their requirements
for this purpose. They may also use a portion of the terminal
building for dressing and make-up, etc. A motion was made
by Mr. Ruben, seconded by Mr. Aylesworth, to approve the use of the
facility for this purpose, subject to necessary insurance
requirements. Motion passed.
