This weekend the Lincoln
Kiwanis hosted the group's annual chili soup lunch at American Legion Post 263 in Lincoln.
The event featured chili and
cornbread and a wide variety of rich desserts.
In addition, there was a bake
sale where lunch patrons could grab a tasty sweet to take home for
later.
This year the Kiwanis
partnered with the Oasis Senior Center for the fundraiser. Oasis
members helped with clearing tables as well as serving.
Marilyn Armbrust, who is on the
Oasis board of directors, said Saturday that the remodeling of the new building
for the Oasis is going to begin soon. She said the group has
penciled out a floor plan for the new center, which will be in the
former Rusty's Clubhouse. In the very near future they
expect to have contractors do a walk-through of the building, so they
may be able to start putting together plans for the remodeling.
