In the seventh-grade game, the Wolverines (5-10) lost 46-39.
Kaden Froebe led the way with 10 points and Kameron Whiteman
added nine. Also scoring for WLB were Blain Robbins, Dreyden
Pozsgai and Shane Shumard with five each, Justin Long with
three, and Payton Batley with two. The Wolverines were scheduled
to play Mount Pulaski on Thursday with a 6 p.m. tip at Lincoln
College in the third-place game of the Logan County Conference
tournament. In the eighth-grade contest, WLB (9-4) fell 55-41.
The Wolverines were led by Zach Morris with 20 points while Jack
Eimer added 16 and Froebe contributed five. The eighth-grade
squad will next play in a second-round Logan County Conference
tournament game Saturday night at Lincoln College. Tipoff is
scheduled for 5:15 p.m.
Next week WLB will host Springfield Little Flower on
Wednesday and observe eighth-grade night to honor the
accomplishments and dedication of the student athletes. The
student athletes and their parents will be recognized in a
ceremony between games.
