[January 21, 2014]  (The Sports Xchange) — There are 34 days remaining before the 2014 Daytona 500; hence, the number for today is:

34: The number of laps led at Daytona International Speedway by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Brian Vickers, who is scheduled to compete full-time for Michael Waltrip Racing in 2014. In 2006, his last season with Hendrick Motorsports, Vickers led 21 laps in the Daytona 500 and 13 in the July race at the 2.5-mile superspeedway. Vickers also recorded the first of his three career NASCAR Sprint Cup victories in 2006, at Talladega Superspeedway.
