We invite you to be a part of our 9th Annual Old-Fashioned
Children’s Walking Parade. We’ll start taking registrations at
9:30 a.m. at Scully Park. We step off promptly at 10:00 a.m. and
walk to the Park District. Decorate your tricycles, bicycles,
strollers, scooters and wagons. Walk, rollerblade or grab your
skateboard. NO motorized vehicles are permitted (wheelchairs
accepted). Leashed dogs are welcome too! Parents and families are
encouraged to accompany their children on the parade route. There
will be contests, with categories divided by age groups for 12 and
under, for the best decorated entries. Prizes are awarded at the
Park District.
After the prize presentation stay around and be a part of our
annual water fight with the Lincoln Fire Department. While we
only have water balloons and they have a truck everyone gets wet and
has a great time.
The fun resumes again that evening. Come to the Park District, 1400
Railer Way, and find your spot on the driving range. We will have
food concessions available offering plenty of great food for
everyone. DJ Kevin Curry will spin the tunes beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The Color Guard and fireworks will begin at dusk.

Come to the chicken Dinner this Friday
While we enjoy the fireworks, they are expensive. To help defray
those costs the proceeds from the Drive Thru Chicken Dinner are
applied to that. You’ll find our volunteer crew at the American
Legion parking lot on Friday, June 27th. Cost for the three piece
Fried Chicken dinner is $8.00, which includes potato salad, baked
beans and a roll. We will start serving at 4:30 and end at 7:00 p.m.
Art classes continue this Saturdy
This Saturday, June 28th, Jody Phillips continues her Art Workshops
for Beginners. Jody is a local artist and will be offering classes
for adults. If you enjoy painting or would like to try painting a
picture for the first time or 300th then treat yourself to an Art
Class! No experience is needed and all materials are provided. Cost
is $35.00 in district and is scheduled from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
