Leon Rose, Anthony's agent, confirmed to ESPN that Anthony still
hasn't committed to a team the day before players can begin signing
contracts.
ESPN reported that Anthony is waiting to announce his decision until
free agent LeBron James reveals where he plans to play next season.
Earlier in the day, a person close to Anthony told the newspaper
that barring a last minute change of heart, Anthony will re-sign
with the New York Knicks after "agonizing over this" for the past
week.
---Two trades by the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday open the door
for the potential return of LeBron James to his home state.
Before the four-time MVP sat down with Miami Heat president Pat
Riley, the Cavaliers dealt away three first-round picks in separate
trades involving the Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics.
The moves leave the Cavaliers with $21.7 million in cap space,
enough to offer James a maximum salary slot. According to Adrian
Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, James' agent, Rich Paul, advised the
Cavaliers to make the moves necessary to offer James a max deal.
Point guard Jarrett Jack and his $6.2 million salary was shipped to
the Nets along with Sergey Karasev. The 20-year-old Karasev was the
19th overall pick in the 2013 draft. Yyler Zeller and a lottery
protected first-round pick went to the Celtics in exchange for a
second-round pick as part of three-team deal that also included
Marcus Thornton landed in Boston.
---Gregg Popovich and the San Antonio Spurs agreed to a multiyear
contract extension.
The team announced the deal in a release Wednesday but did not
disclose the financial terms or length of the contract. Popovich
said during the NBA Finals that he planned to coach four or five
more years.
Popovich, 65, has coached San Antonio to five NBA titles since he
was named head coach in 1996-97. During that span, there have been
213 coaching changes in the NBA. Among active coaches, only Popovich
was hired to work for his current team before the 2008 season.

the staff of head coach Steve Clifford, the team announced
Wednesday.
Delany joins the Hornets after spending last season as head coach of

the Miami Heat. In his first head coaching job, Delany led the team
to a 31-19 record, which was tied for the second-best record in the
D-League.

$63.065 million for the 2014-15 season, the league announced
Wednesday.
The tax level for the 2014-15 season increased 7.1 percent to
$76.829 million.
The salary cap and tax level go into effect at 12:01 a.m. ET on
