Dodgers 1, Padres 0
Right fielder Yasiel Puig's run-scoring single in the sixth inning
was the difference as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Diego
Padres on Sunday.
The Dodgers (54-43) own the best record in the National League
heading into the All-Star break, while the slumping Padres (41-54)
have lost seven of nine games to the Dodgers this season.
Dodgers lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu retired the first 11 batters.
The Padres only hit three balls out of the infield against Ryu
(10-5) before he completed his two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and no
walks in six innings.

Giants 8, Diamondbacks 4
San Francisco starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner and catcher Buster
Posey each cracked grand slams in consecutive innings - the first
battery in major league history to slam in the same game - as the
Giants beat the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Bumgarner (10-7) also recorded his first victory in four starts,
allowing four runs and 10 hits in 6 1/3 innings.

A's 4, Mariners 1
Sonny Gray found a way to extend his run of solid starts and he also
provided Oakland with a much-needed win as the Athletics beat the
Seattle Mariners.
The right-hander helped Oakland (59-36) avoid a sweep with another
impressive pitching performance, allowing just one unearned run over
7 2/3 innings.
Gray (10-3) has won each of his past three starts without giving up
more than one earned run in any of them.

Red Sox 11, Astros 0
Clay Buchholz tossed his fifth career shutout, a three-hitter, while
a balanced offensive attack carried the Boston Red Sox to a lopsided
victory over the Houston Astros.
Buchholz (4-5) struck out a career-high 12 batters and retired the
last 17 batters he faced. He allowed three singles and did not issue
a walk while tossing 109 pitches, 76 strikes.
Catcher Jason Castro was the lone Astro to reach third base against
Buchholz

Braves 10, Cubs 7
Third baseman Chris Johnson homered for the second straight day as
the Atlanta Braves beat the Chicago Cubs in a high-scoring
encounter.
Johnson, who had two homers on Saturday, went 3-for-4 and slammed a
three-run shot to center in the fourth as Atlanta raced to a 7-0
lead.

Twins 13, Rockies 5
The Minnesota Twins pounded out a season-high 18 hits to beat the
Colorado Rockies.
Second baseman Brian Dozier hit two homers, giving him 18 for the
season in his first career multi-home run game.
The game was closer than the final score indicates, as the Twins
scored seven runs in the final three innings, including four in the
ninth.

Angels 10, Rangers 7
Mike Trout was 2-for-4 with four RBIs for the Los Angeles Angels,
who completed a four-game sweep of the Texas Rangers.
Tyler Skaggs (5-5) earned the victory, giving up six runs on seven
hits and one walk while striking out three over five innings for the
Angels (57-37), who finished the first half of the season with a
19-4 run.

Mets 9, Marlins 1
Right-hander Jacob deGrom threw seven strong innings and singled
home the go-ahead run in the fourth inning as the New York Mets
completed their best homestand in four years by beating the Miami
Marlins.

The Mets (45-50) swept the three-game series to surge past the
Marlins (44-50) and into third place in the National League East.
New York finished the first half by going 8-2 on 10-game homestand,
during which it outscored opponents 55-30.

Reds 6, Pirates 3
Todd Frazier hit a two-run homer and second baseman Kristopher
Negron added a solo shot for his first career homer, lifting the
Cincinnati Reds to victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Second baseman Neil Walker hit his 13th home run for Pittsburgh
(49-46), which went 2-5 on its final road trip prior to the break.

Royals 5, Tigers 2
Omar Infante had a two-run single with two outs and the bases loaded
in the bottom of the seventh to give the Kansas City Royals victory
over the Detroit Tigers.
The Royals averted a four-game sweep. It was Kansas City's first win
at home over the Tigers in seven tries this season.

Rays 3, Blue Jays 0
The Tampa Bay Rays beat the Toronto Blue Jays behind a strong
performance by All-Star pitcher David Price.
The left-hander pitched into the ninth, allowing five hits over
eight shutout innings with five strikeouts as he improved to 9-7
with a 3.23 ERA.

Brewers 11, Cardinals 2
The Milwaukee Brewers halted a season-high seven-game losing streak
with a win over the St Louis Cardinals.
The Brewers snapped out of an offensive funk and got a stellar start
from right-hander Wily Peralta, who went seven innings and allowed
one unearned run on three hits while striking out five.

Nationals 10, Phillies 3
The Washington Nationals jumped out to an early lead and beat the
Philadelphia Phillies.
After right fielder Jayson Werth hit a three-run blast in the top of
the first inning, the Nationals scored four runs and sent eight
batters to the plate in the sixth to snare a 7-0 lead and complete
control of the game.

Indians 3, White Sox 2
A two-run home run by catcher Yan Gomes in the eighth inning lifted
the Cleveland Indians to a win over the Chicago White Sox.

Orioles 3, Yankees 1 (five innings)
Chris Davis hit a two-run homer, and right-hander Kevin Gausman went
the distance as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the New York Yankees
in a rain-shortened, five-inning game.
The game was stopped with the Orioles (52-42) batting in the bottom
of the fifth and made official since New York (47-47) got to hit in
the top of the inning. The umpires waited two hours and 22 minutes
