Monmouth College holds annual honors convocation

[July 16, 2014]  Near the end of the spring semester, Monmouth College held its annual honors convocation. The event was held in conjunction with Scholars Day activities on campus.

The students below were recognized during the convocation for receiving scholarships, prizes, department honors, etc.

Delavan

Madalynn Carr of Delavan received the Florence & Ben Bondurant Annual Memorial Scholarship. A sophomore accounting major, she is the daughter of Sanish and Karla Carr of Delavan.

Chase L. Smith of Delavan received the Hugh D. Winbigler Scholarship. He was inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta, the national honor society for first-year students. A sophomore exercise science major, he is the son of Larry and Rae Smith of Delavan.

Greenview

Richard Lee Williams of Greenview received the Lt. Col. Harold A. Jacobs (USAF) and Mrs. Madeline R. Jacobs Science Scholarship, the John Barnes Kritzer Scholarship and the Robert Minteer '66 Prize. A senior physics major, he is the son of Carl and Lana Williams of Greenview.

Havana

Morgan J. Martindale of Havana received the Murdy Trotter Endowed Scholarship. A sophomore business administration and accounting major, she is the daughter of James and Jodie Martindale of Havana.

Trey M. Murphy of Havana received the Matilda J. Cerpa Scholarship. A sophomore business administration major, he is the son of Eric and Deanna Murphy of Havana.

Kyle J. Orwig of Havana received the Buck-Wackerle Scholarship and the Art Dept Award. A senior art major, he is the son of Dan and Mary Orwig of Havana.

Manito

Alanna M. Trettin of Manito received the Miriam E. Hartzell Memorial Scholarship and the James C. Hill, M.D., Scholarship. She was inducted into Blue Key, an honorary fraternity recognizing outstanding character and ability and distinction in sevice, leadership and scholarship. A junior biochemistry major, she is the daughter of Paul and Tracy Trettin of Manito.

Wapella

Raegan N. Pinkerton of Wapella received the McKay Scholarship. A junior business administration major, she is the daughter of James and Amy Pinkerton of Wapella.

Warrensburg

Alyssa Brianne Riley of Warrensburg received the Olive Barrett Memorial Scholarship. She was inducted into Mortar Board, a national honor society recognizing seniors for exemplary scholarship, leadership and service. A senior English major, she is the daughter of Jon K. and Donna J. Riley of Warrensburg.

Waynesville

Aaron R. Klemm of Waynesville received the Grooms Scholarship. A senior business administration major, he is the son of Robert and Patricia Klemm of Waynesville.
