This week the Lincoln City Council and Logan County Board heard an update from the Unified Organizations Committee. That committee has recommended that the Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan County, and the Development Partnership of Lincoln and Logan County roll into one entity. When the new organization is formed there will be a small board of directors appointed by election. The voters of the election would be appointed by the four entities, plus the city and county, and a contingency from around the county. Votes would be weighted based on financial contribution to the new organization. County board members voted this week not to participate.
