Heartland’s Community Day Set for June 7

NORMAL - Heartland is ready to kick off
the summer season with Community Day. Members of the community are
invited to stop by the Normal campus, 1500 W. Raab Road, on
Saturday, June 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for free classes and
tons of fun.

Activities for adults and kids will take place
throughout the day. Classrooms will be open for the community to
sample a range of classes relating to fitness and recreation,
cooking, arts and sciences, technology and other personal interests
such as planning for retirement. Classes begin at 9:00 a.m.
Starting at 10:00 a.m., a variety of activities will take place
throughout the campus. Attendees can fish at Birky Pond, take a
trolley tour, test drive an EV car, get their face painted by Zoo
Lady and more. Kids are invited to bring their bike and helmet and
participate in a bike rodeo.
Community Day will also feature a 3-on-3 basketball tournament for
students entering grades 5-12. Cost is $25 per team and registration
is required by June 5.
