			77, of Lincoln passed away at his home at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, May 
			29, 2014.  Arrangements are entrusted to

							William “Gene” Baker, 77, of Lincoln passed away at 
							his home at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014.
 Gene was born February 4, 1937 in Lincoln the son of 
							Harold “Doc” and Marion Houston Baker. He married 
							Shirley Montgomery June 9, 1969 and later married 
							Jean Ann Cutler December 30, 2005. Jean Ann survives 
							in Lincoln.
 
 Gene is also survived by children: Terry Baker of 
							California; Larry Baker of Lincoln; Pamela (Robin) 
							Goings of Maxton, NC; Michael (Tracy) Baker of 
							Winter Garden, FL; Jay (Shannon) Baker of Illiopolis; 
							Bevan (Angel) Baker of Atlanta; Billy (Charity) 
							Baker of Lincoln; Trisha (Jeff) Baker-Bonn of 
							Edinburg; Siblings: Steve Baker of Dallas, TX; Paul 
							(Nita) Baker of DeSota, TX; Terry Patterson of Ojai, 
							CA; Cindy Patterson of Lincoln; sixteen 
							grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
 
							He was preceded in death by his parents; his nana 
							Mae Houston; Grandfather, Carl Baker; Step Mother, 
							Pat Baker; Brothers: Bobby Baker and Denny Baker; 
							Nephew, Bob Goodey; and Grandson, Dallas Baker. | 
                    
					 
							Gene was owner and operator of Baker Masonry and 
							Pool Crafters for 42 years and worked up until the 
							time of his death. He was a member of the Lincoln 
							Elk’s for 40 years; he was a Knights Templar; an 
							avid scuba diver; loved motor cycles, fishing, and 
							boating. He was an APA pool tournament winner and he 
							was“probably the worst joke teller” ever.
 
 Visitation for Gene will be from 2:00-5:00 p.m. 
							Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader 
							Funeral Home, Lincoln. There will be no service. 
							Gene chose to be cremated. Memorials may be given to 
							Safe Haven Hospice.
