LINCOLN-Karen
Kathleen Newman, 71, of Lincoln passed away at 8:50
a.m. June 5, 2014 in her home.
Karen was born October 31, 1942 in Taylorville the
daughter of James Henry and Gladys Benewitz Adams.
She married Gary “Beaver” Newman December 22, 1962
at the First United Methodist Church of Lincoln. He
survives in Lincoln.
Karen is also survived by her son: Henry Dean Newman
of Lincoln; one daughter: Andrea (Mike) Hinton of
Lincoln; Grandchildren, Devon Jacob and Mason Taylor
Newman of Lincoln; Mallory (Clint) Garey of Atlanta,
Madelyn Hinton of Lincoln and one great
granddaughter, Mariah Newman of Taylorville. She was
preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Gayle
Ladson. She is the last of her immediate family. |
Karen is a retired employee of the State of Illinois
and a member of First United Methodist Church of
Lincoln.
Services for Karen will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday,
June 7, 2014 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home, Lincoln, with Rev. Michael Paulson officiating. Burial
will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation
will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, June 6 at the
funeral home. Memorials may be given in her name to
Memorial Home Services or the American Cancer
Society.
