[March 01, 2014]  BLOOMINGTON — Starting on March 1st, Home Sweet Home Ministries will be working with The Feinstein Foundation as part of its $1 Million Giveaway to Fight Hunger. For the 17th consecutive year, Alan Shawn Feinstein will divide $1 million among non-profit hunger fighting agencies nationwide using it as a spur to help them raise funds this March and April. Donations received from March 1st to April 30th will be counted towards the Feinstein program. Donations can include financial and in-kind food donations.

Home Sweet Home Ministries will use March and April and its focus of SHARE LOVE – 60 Days of Compassion, to ask the community to support its efforts to help feed the hungry.

“Since partnering with Alan Shawn Feinstein in this initiative five years ago, we have seen the need in our community grow to the point where it is taxing the resources we have here at Home Sweet Home Ministries. This year we need everyone to come along side us and help to meet this challenge and beat hunger.” shares Mary Ann Pullin, CEO at Home Sweet Home Ministries.

This year high school students are invited to be part of the challenge as well. High school students and schools from across the country are being offered a special $100,000 giveaway to help kick start the Annual Feinstein Giveaway to Fight Hunger. Five $10,000 awards for the five students who individually collect the largest number of canned food items as part of their school’s overall drive and five $10,000 grants to the schools who collect the most cans. Schools wishing to participate in this challenge can contact Matt Drat at Home Sweet Home Ministries at (309) 828-7356.
