LINCOLN —
William J. Thuerwachter, 90, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Feb. 25,
2014, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

William James Thuerwachter, 90, of Lincoln, passed
away February 25, 2014 at home surrounded by his
family.
Memorial services will be Friday, February 28, 2014
at 11:30 a.m. at Holland Barry& Bennett Funeral Home
in Lincoln. A time of visitation will be from11:00
AM until the time of the service.
William was born April 19, 1923, the son of Earle
William and Mae (Zielke) Thuerwachter. He married
Pearl Edith Michels on June 18, 1949 in Fond du Lac,
Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on September 1,
2002.

William proudly served his country in the United
States Air Force during WWII and later retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the
Reserves. He was a lifetime member of the Lincoln Elks Club, a member of the VFW
Alonzo Cudworth Post in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a member of the Data Processing
Managers Association, and the Air Craft Owners and Pilots Association. He was an
avid private pilot, golfer, bridge player, bowler, and fisherman.
In his early life William was a studio photographer
in the Uptown Studio in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was then employed by Cutler
Hammer/Eaton and later was employed at the Illinois Department of Revenue.
Surviving are his daughters: Mary Thuerwachter of Santa Cruz, CA., Tina
Thuerwachter of Evanston, IL., and Louise Gragg of Jacksonville, FL and his
brother James Thuerwachter (Sheila) of San Antonio, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Pearl Thuerwachter.
Memorial donations may be made to Memorial Home Hospice and will be accepted at
the funeral home.
