The 14 Big Ten teams will compete in an 18-game conference schedule,
playing five teams both home and away and eight teams once. Each
team will play four of its single-play opponents at home and four on
the road.
The new format, which was created for the 14-team league with the
addition of Maryland and Rutgers for the 2014-15 season, features a
three-year cycle where every team will have at least one
home-and-home series with all 13 conference opponents.
Next season, the Illini will face Michigan, Michigan State,
Nebraska, Northwestern and Purdue in home-and-home matchups.
Illinois' single-play home matchups are Indiana, Maryland, Penn
State and Rutgers, while the Orange and Blue will travel to Iowa,
Minnesota, Ohio State and Wisconsin without a return game.
Dates, times and television information will be announced at a
later date.
