[March 10, 2014]  Lincoln Christian University has signed two new soccer players for the 2014 fall roster. A local transfer from Heartland Community College, Ethan Frontone, and Jacksonville High School senior Alex Watret recently came to LCU's Laughlin Center for the official signing of their national letters of intent.

Frontone, a Lincoln Community High School graduate and varsity starter for the Railers, will be looking to fill a role as a midfielder for LCU in the fall. Ethan is the son of Don and Cindy Frontone of Lincoln.

Frontone was confident about his signing with the Red Lions. "I felt that God was calling me to come here and do worship ministry," he said.

Watret comes to LCU as a legacy student since both parents, Jeff and Christy Watret, are graduates of LCU. He will be expected to contribute to the Red Lions' corps of net-minders, a role he is comfortable filling, as he has each year at LCU summer soccer camps in front of men's soccer head coach John Merrit.

Watret is excited about his academic future at LCU as well. "I've known that I've wanted to come to LCU for quite a while," he said. "I want to major in youth ministry, and Lincoln is the best place to do that."
