MATTOON — After last night's game, the
Lincoln Railers are just one game away from claiming the sectional
title. However, the next
game is going to be a tough one. Friday night the Railers will
play the Champaign Central Maroons. The Maroons are one of
only two teams that managed to pull one out from under the Railers
this year. And, Wednesday night the opponents were doing their
homework, as the Champaign team was in the stands in Mattoon, watching the Railers. After the game
Lincoln coach Neil Alexander commented about the Friday night game, saying,
"We will have our hands full on Friday night. We'll have to eat our Wheaties between now and then. But, we survived to advance, and this
time of year, that's all you can ask for."
Wednesday night's game was another stellar
accomplishment for our guys. Be sure to read all the details
in the story today by LDN sports writer Jeff Benjamin.
And, once again, many thanks to Railer mom
Debbie Olden for some wonderful shots of last night's game.
