[March 15, 2014]SPRINGFIELD — In February the
Illinois Liquor Control Commission conducted compliance checks
around the state and visited 211 businesses licensed to sell liquor.
The commission cited 49 licensees for violations of liquor control
laws. Seventy-seven percent of the licensees visited complied with
Illinois liquor laws and refused to serve underage customers.
This report is a result of ongoing undercover and cooperative law
enforcement operations conducted by Illinois Liquor Control
Commission agents, local law enforcement officials and volunteers
from high schools and colleges. The teams randomly visit liquor
stores, restaurants and bars in communities around the state to
check for ongoing compliance with state laws mandating that no
liquor is sold to minors under the age of 21. ILCC agents also work
with local and state law enforcement agents to focus on communities
with a high incidence of underage liquor sales.
Coles County — On Feb. 13, the
Illinois Liquor Control Commission and Illinois State Police
District 10 conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Coles
County. Of the 15 licensees checked, seven licensees sold alcohol to
ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

Cook County — On Feb. 20, ILCC
and Illinois Secretary of State Police conducted underage liquor
compliance checks in the Cook County communities of Maywood,
Broadview, Hillside and Berkeley. Of the 11 establishments checked,
two sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. The licensees were:

ILCC and the Douglas County Sheriff's Department conducted alcohol

checked, one sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. That

6, the ILCC along with the Darien Police Department conducted
