SPRINGFIELD — Adeline M. Spencer, 73,
of Springfield, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Symphony of
Lincoln nursing home in Lincoln.

Springfield, Illinois--Adeline M. Spencer passed
away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 after a long
illness. She was surrounded by the comfort of her
family during the passing at Symphony of Lincoln
Nursing Home in Lincoln, Illinois.
She was born the daughter of Bill and Mable Hickman
Crammond, on April 9, 1940, in Springfield where she
continued to live out her life.
She is survived by her husband Clarence "CJ" Spencer
who she married in 1956. Also surviving are her
children Daniel, David (Vicki ), Diana (Kevin)
Hughes and Dawn Taielua (Josh Joy). All reside in
Springfield. She also has surviving siblings, Bill
(Kathy) Crammond, Marjorie Ray and Jackie (Rick)
McCain. There are also 11 grandchildren, 14
great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Adeline was preceded in death by one infant daughter
Darla Kay Spencer, who she will join at Camp Butler
Cemetery. Also preceding her in death were her
parents and one sister, Dorthea "Marie" Lee.

Being employed by Lake Victory Cosmetology for
several years as an instructor and many years at
home raising her children and aiding her
husband in running his plumbing company and other
ventures, kept her very busy. Her life was full with
large family functions and she loved to socialize
with friends and family. She was known for being
opinionated and antics that still make those close,
smile. She is and will continue to be greatly
missed.
No public funeral service is scheduled. Final
cremation arrangements have been entrusted to
Peasley Funeral Home, Lincoln, Illinois. Burial
will be at a later date to be determined.
