Saturday evening, after a
tough day in Peoria, the Lincoln High School varsity basketball team
was given a welcome home that far exceeds anything anyone could have
imagined.
At about 6 p.m., vehicles
started gathering on the curb of Woodlawn Road. The early
birds started the long line in front of Steak 'n Shake. As
more came, they filled the shoulders up to and beyond the old
Wal-Mart. Off the road, any spot that held parking spaces was
occupied as well.
The kids had a long day at
Carver Arena in Peoria. When they left the arena, they took
time out to stop for food, then made their way back to Lincoln. The buses pulled off the interstate at approximately 7 p.m.
